Avoiding overwhelming information or just Getting Things Done

“If you don’t have a clear sense of the totality of your obligations, you will always overcommit. And commitments occur on multiple levels, from ‘why I’m on the planet’ to ‘need butter.’ But the elevation most amorphous for most is the plane just above your physical activities—your projects. I have a radical definition of a project: Anything you’re committed to finish within a year that requires more than one action to complete it. Given that broad designation, most people have between 30 and 100. Where’s your list? How complete and current is it?”

-David Allen, of Getting Things Done (GTD)

As I slowly become a GTD convert, I see the radical shift in my productivity, effectiveness, and the freedom in my mind from the constant clutter of ideas, tasks, wishes, details that have rattled around in there for so long. I am an avoider, so I've always felt overwhelmed by confronting the monumental list of all of these things (30-100 projects! Yikes!). But as I've tried to collect, process, organize, review, & do all of the "things" of my life, I've seen how much more of a slick operation I can run: in my mind, my job, & my house.

Personally, I have gotten great use from the tool Evernote. But organizationally, there is an infinitely larger amount of data and "things" to deal with, and I know that I am not alone in my response of avoidance to the overwhelming mass of information that is at our fingertips.

Clearstream Collaborative really wants to bring the same freedom and slick operations to your organization; that's why it resonates so much with me, and many others who experience the frustration of overwhelming data, either personally, in their job role, or both.

Take our tour to find out how we use Intuit's Quick Base to improve productivity, maximize flexibility, take away the pain of IT "systems" by getting you onto the Cloud.
